How to move around Shelf.
Shelf is built around links, people, and rooms. If text looks like a button, handle, tag, card, or underlined link, it probably takes you somewhere useful.
Open a shelf item
Click anywhere on an item card to open its Shelf page. That page shows details, related finds, tags, and who else saved it.
Try an itemAdd one link
Use + Add, paste a link, and submit. Shelf renders the title, image, summary, tags, and recipe details in the background.

Item card
Opens the Shelf detail page for that book, recipe, podcast, post, or article.
Title or website name
Opens the original source when the text is linked. Use this when you want the outside website.
@handle
Opens that person’s shelf so you can see what else they have saved.
Room name
Opens the community room where that item was shared.
#tag
Shows other items filed under the same topic.
Adding
How to add something to your shelf
Click + Add, paste one link, choose a room if you want to share it there, then submit. You do not need to write a summary. Shelf will clean up the link, tag it, and put it on your shelf. If rendering says it is still working, give it a little time and refresh.
Rooms
How rooms work
Rooms are small groups like school parents, work, neighbors, or a private topic group. If you add a link directly into a room, people in that room can see it. You can also link something already on your shelf into a room without creating a duplicate.
People
How to find and follow people
Open People to see everyone on Shelf, currently ranked by how many items they have saved. Click a person or an @handle to open their shelf. Follow someone when you want their public saves to appear in your Following feed.
Recipes
How recipe view works
Recipe links are cleaned into Ingredients and Instructions. Open the item card to use recipe view. If the recipe is yours, you can edit ingredients or instructions when the original needs a correction.
Search
How to search and filter
Most list pages have type chips and a search box. Use type chips for broad filtering, like Books or Recipes. Use search for titles, notes, tags, people, and room names. Clear the search with the X or Escape when available.
Troubleshooting
If something looks wrong
If an item says Rendering, Shelf is still working. If it says Needs retry, open your shelf and use Retry render if you own the item. If a signup fails, the error box should now explain what field or account issue needs attention.
